BeyondAutism is a non-profit organisation committed to driving positive change in autism education. They offer specialised educational services from pre-school up to age 25.
The Challenge & Solution
BeyondAutism were experiencing significant recruitment challenges, primarily in hiring and retaining Teaching and Learning Practitioners & Mentors across the organisation.
High reliance on recruitment agencies was financially unsustainable, compounded by a high turnover rate. The existing recruitment function lacked resources, leading to a limited candidate pipeline, long cycle times and high dropout rates.
In December 2023, BeyondAutism partnered with Cohesion to outsource recruitment of Teaching and Learning Practitioners & Mentors across all Schools, Early Years Services and Post-19 Provision.
Our team worked closely with each service to fully understand their individual needs and differences with mainstream education, allowing candidates to be pre-screened and briefed with precision. Proactive sourcing methods have been implemented to widen the candidate pipeline and increase diversity. Alongside candidate quality improvements, BeyondAutism benefit from a best practice recruitment process that complies with Ofsted and Department of Education regulations.
Results
The partnership has produced significant improvements by month four, including:
- 91% attendance rate at interviews
- 78% offer suitability rate
- 97% offer acceptance rate
- 90% offer to start conversion rate
- Average time from application to offer: 16 days
- Average time from offer to start: 18 days
